Is MXPolypit real money?
No. Crypto markets read a live public feed (Kraken); the rest of the prices are generated by MXPolypit’s simulated engine. Every stake is in virtual points. Points can’t be deposited, withdrawn, bought, or sold — there is no cash side to the pit. Read the full story on the how-it-works page.
How do payouts work?
When a market’s window closes, the engine settles every position against the written rule on the market card — automatically, usually within seconds of the bell. Wins pay from the losing side’s stakes; on 3+ player open pits a house rake (default 10%) is withheld from the pool before the podium split and burned back into the game — never paid to anyone, including the house. Ties (pushes) refund your stake in full.
Where do starting points come from?
Every account starts with 1,000 virtual points. Points you win are points you keep on the leaderboard — but they were never money and never become money.
Can I sell a position before the bell?
Yes, on market-style games: open positions can be sold back at the current crowd price any time before settlement. Solo-style games cash out at the engine’s quoted value from the same price.
Why did a market settle the way it did?
Every market shows its judgment rule verbatim in the About accordion on its page (e.g. “CLOSE > OPEN = UP · TIE PUSHES”). Settlement is mechanical: the engine compares the tape against that rule. If you believe the tape itself glitched rather than the rule going against you, report the market (next question).
How do I report a market, comment, or player?
Use the flag button — it sits next to a market’s title, beside every comment, and on other players’ profiles. Pick a reason and the moderation desk reviews the report. Repeat reports of the same thing are deduped, so one flag is enough.
My points or positions look wrong
Settlement runs automatically after each bell, and the tape keeps moving while maintenance happens — a position can briefly read mid-settlement. If it’s still wrong minutes later, flag the market it belongs to and the desk will look at the ledger.
